XFlynn Boulder Opal

Auction terms

Last updated: 1 August 2026. These terms apply to timed online opal auctions operated by XFlynn through xflynn.com.

1. Sale format

Each listing is a timed online auction of a parcel owned and offered by XFlynn. Auction details, opening bid, bid increment, status and closing time are displayed on the parcel page. All amounts are in Australian dollars.

2. Australian bidders only

Bidding is limited to buyers located in Australia. A bidder must provide their real name, email address, mobile number, state or territory and postcode, and must verify their email address before bidding.

3. Bids are binding

A bid becomes final when it is accepted and recorded by the XFlynn server. Bids cannot be withdrawn after acceptance. By bidding, the bidder agrees to purchase the parcel if they are the highest valid bidder when the auction closes and the reserve has been met.

4. Hard closing time

The displayed closing time is final and there are no automatic extensions. A bid is valid only when it has been received and recorded by the XFlynn server before the closing deadline. Beginning or submitting a bid before the deadline does not guarantee that it will arrive in time. The server record controls if there is a timing dispute.

5. Opening bid, reserve and increments

The listing displays the opening bid and minimum next bid. Bids must follow the stated increment. The page will indicate whether the reserve has been met. XFlynn may pass in a parcel if the reserve is not met.

6. Parcel description

The photographs, video, measurements and written description form part of the listing. Natural opal and host rock can contain ironstone, potch, sand, inclusions, fractures and other natural features. Colour and brightness may appear different under different lighting, cameras, screens, moisture or viewing angles. Buyers should review the complete listing before bidding and ask any material question before the auction closes.

7. Payment

The winning buyer will be contacted directly. Payment may be arranged by bank transfer, card or cash for an approved local collection. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due within two business days of the auction closing. Ownership does not transfer until cleared payment is received.

8. Shipping

Tracked shipping within Australia is included unless the parcel listing states otherwise. XFlynn will pack the parcel carefully and is open to reasonable special packing requests made before dispatch. Any request that materially changes the delivery cost or method must be agreed before shipping.

9. Platform problems

XFlynn may suspend, cancel or correct an auction where there is a genuine technical failure, security incident, obvious listing error or other circumstance that makes the sale unreliable or unfair. Any material action will be documented and communicated to affected bidders where practical.

10. Consumer rights

Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

11. Contact

Questions about a parcel or these terms should be raised before bidding by contacting XFlynn directly.
